The Basics
What Is Vertical Hydroponic Farming?
Instead of growing crops across acres of soil, we grow upward using vertical hydroponic systems.
Plants grow in specially designed vertical pipes while water and carefully balanced nutrients are delivered directly to their roots. The water is collected and recirculated through the system rather than being used once and discarded.
This allows us to grow more food in a smaller footprint while carefully controlling the water, nutrients and growing environment our plants receive.
From Seed to Harvest
Every crop starts small. Here’s how it becomes part of your box.
1. Seed
Every crop starts with carefully selected seed. We choose varieties for flavour, quality and performance in our indoor growing system.
2. Nursery
Seeds are started in small growing blocks and cared for in our nursery until strong roots and healthy seedlings are ready for the vertical grow system.
3. Grow
Seedlings move into our vertical hydroponic pipes, where their roots receive recirculating water and nutrients in a carefully controlled indoor environment.
4. Harvest
Once ready, crops are harvested fresh and packed for our CSA boxes and local customers, grown right here in Manitoba, 365 days a year.
